Mpingo Seeds
There are over 40,000 mpingo seeds and about half that many seed pods per kilogram. The photos below show first a selection of mpingo pods and then seeds with a United States penny to provide a sense of scale. These seeds were harvested by Sebastian Chuwa in southern Tanzania in May, 1999.
